Let get to know Lactose Intolerance.

"Milk" is one of the products that we know and drink since birth. As we know it, milk is loaded with beneficial nutrients, which helps with growth, height, and brain development. However, it has been found that some people who drink cow's or certain animal's milk have bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain. These symptoms may be caused by impaired lactose digestion. What is the cause and how to take care of it?  Let's get to know this condition.

Lactose Intolerance is a condition in which the body is unable to completely digest lactose. This type of sugar is often found in animal milk and dairy products, and it shows symptoms 30 minutes or more after eating it. The leftover lactose will react with the bacteria in the colon and result in abnormal symptoms. The severity of symptoms depends on the amount of lactose consumed. And the amount of lactase enzyme produced by the body for digesting lactose.

Patients with Lactose Intolerance often have abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, etc. This condition is common and is less serious, but it can be very uncomfortable. It is caused by this type of sugar being digested by the lactase enzyme in the small intestine. When the lactase in the small intestine is small, the lactose remains up to the large intestine, which contains a type of bacteria, and is able to react with lactose. As a result, any malfunctions can occur.

Caution for people with Lactose Intolerance is to avoid lactose-rich dairy products and drink soy milk, yogurt, or lactose-free formula milk instead. Additionally, there are options like whey protein isolate supplements which provide rich protein concentrations and amino acids. It can be used in individuals with impaired lactose digestion because lactose is extracted to a very small amount. Read for more details on whey protein isolates.

As you can see, Lactose Intolerance does not mean that we cannot drink milk at all. We just have to make the right choices that suit each individual. There are many brands of lactose-free dairy products available today. Give it a try and see which brand you like best if you are not going to drink milk at all.
